Privacy policy

This policy covers the game Hire or Fire on iPhone, iPad and Android, and this website. DoubleStamp (see above) is responsible for it.

In the game: no personal data

The game saves your progress on your own phone, and nowhere else:

• your current run, and the company name and CEO name you typed in;
• the endings, trophies, characters and minigames you unlocked, and your best scores;
• your daily challenge results and streak;
• your settings, such as sound, music, vibration and text speed;
• whether you bought the full game.

None of this is sent to us or to anyone else. We cannot see it. If you delete the game, this data is deleted with it. Your phone may include it in your own iCloud or Google backup; that backup is between you and Apple or Google.

The game does not:

• ask for an account or login;
• show ads;
• use analytics, tracking, advertising IDs or cookies;
• connect to our servers or any other server;
• ask for permissions such as location, camera, microphone, contacts or notifications.

Purchases

When you buy the full game, the payment is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not receive your name, payment details or other personal data. The game only receives a confirmation that the full game is unlocked, and stores that on your phone. "Restore purchases" asks Apple or Google for that same confirmation.

Sharing

If you tap Share, the game opens your phone's own share menu with a text or an image of your result. You choose where it goes. We do not see what you share or with whom.

App stores

Apple and Google process data when you download, buy or update the game, under their own privacy policies. If you allowed it in your phone's settings, they may show us anonymous, combined statistics, such as the number of downloads or crash reports. These do not tell us who you are.

This website

This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking, and loads nothing from other websites: the font and images come from this site. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver the pages and protect them against attacks. We do not receive or keep visitor logs. Cloudflare acts on our behalf under its data processing agreement; data transferred to the United States is covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

If you email us

If you email us, we use your email address and message only to answer you. We delete them when they are no longer needed, at the latest two years after our last contact, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.

Children

The game is suitable for all ages and collects no personal data from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable form. Because the game keeps no personal data, there is usually nothing for us to show or delete; for emails you sent us, mail us at support@hireorfire.app. You can also file a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, or with the authority in your own country.

Changes

If anything here changes, this page is updated first, with a new date at the top. If the game ever starts handling personal data, we will say so here before that update reaches your phone.

Terms of use

Licence

You may play Hire or Fire for your own personal, non-commercial use. If you downloaded it from the App Store, Apple's Standard License Agreement applies. If you downloaded it from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service apply. These terms add to those.

Free version and full game

• The game is free up to and including level 2, plus the daily challenge.
• The full game is a single purchase of 1.99 (or the equivalent in your currency, as shown in the store). It is not a subscription, and there are no ads.
• The purchase is linked to your Apple or Google account. On a new phone, use "Restore purchases" in the game.
• Prices in the store include any VAT that applies in your country.

Refunds and your right of withdrawal

Payments and refunds are handled by Apple or Google. To ask for a refund, use reportaproblem.apple.com or the order history in Google Play. Under EU consumer law you normally have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase. For digital content that is delivered right away, this right ends once delivery starts, if you agreed to that when you bought it. This does not affect your other statutory rights.

The game itself

• Hire or Fire is comedy. All characters, companies, products and events in it are fictional. Any resemblance to your actual office is a coincidence, mostly.
• We may update the game, for example to fix problems, balance it or add content. The daily challenge changes every day.
• We do our best to keep the game working, but we cannot promise it will be free of errors or available on every device forever.

Liability

We are not liable for indirect damage caused by using the game, as far as the law allows. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under the law of your country.

Law

These terms fall under Dutch law. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, the mandatory consumer protection of your own country still applies.
